Analysts IDC predict that global sales of smartphones will reach in 2016 1.45 billion pieces. Of 1.17 billion of them must be devices that support 4G, with growth of 21.3 percent. in respect of 2015. (967 million). This growth is largely the merit of emerging markets (Asia and the Pacific excluding Japan, Latin America, Eastern Europe, middle East and Africa), where in 2015. only 61%. sold smartphones support 4G, while projected this year’s rate of 77%. In the case of developed markets (USA, Canada, Japan, Western Europe) these values are respectively 85 percent. and 94 percent.
Among the operating systems installed in newly sold smartphones a dominant position has to keep Android, with a forecast to 2016 market share at 85 percent. and 85.6 percent. in 2020.
Global sales of Android devices during this period is expected to increase from 1.23 billion to 1.46 billion units, while in the second case, the rating platform Apple’s iOS – 206,1 million to of 243.6 million units.
