a Plan for the development of roads for vehicles-it is the result of joint work of the bodies of local self-government of the Mazovian Voivodeship, the local authorities in the capital and the suburb municipalities. In the competition there were selected 13 projects for implementation. The planned investment is mainly the construction of new and upgrading of existing Bicycle paths in Warsaw and 34 neighbouring municipalities.
In the first stage will occur 330 km of trails. The total cost of construction is nearly 340 million UAH. Local authorities will receive more than 241 million rubles co-financing from European funds within the framework of Integrated Territorial Investments included in the Regional operational Programme of the Mazovian Voivodeship 2014-2020. In the near future will be signed contracts on the financing of the selected projects.
- Cycling the roads of the metropolis of Warsaw creates transport corridors integrated with various modes of transport. New track will appear, in particular, between Warsaw and Teeth and Brands Izabelinem, General, Brwinowem, Piastowem, Jaktorowem, Raszynem. Also planned for the whole routes, as, for example, about 80-kilometer stretch Legionowo – Czosnów – Apple – Łomianki – Warsaw – Nowy dwór Mazowiecki – Radzymin – Valishev, 36-kilometer fragment of the Grodzisk Mazowiecki – Michałowice – żyrardów – Milanówek – Horseshoe Lesna – Nadarzyn or nearly 50-kilometer route józefów – Moscow – karczew – Otwock – Sulejówek – Wiązowna. There are also tracks from the Brands in the box and from PIASECZNO to Golgotha.
One of the main criteria of selecting specific projects, routes was that they form a series connection międzygminne and how they fit into the existing network. The second important argument was the opportunity to get on the bike path to the bus stop or an integrated transport interchange public transport.
New routes will be evenly marked. – The characteristic colorful bikes are also part of the planned activities, materials and brochures calling on residents and neighboring municipalities for the use of the Bicycle during your daily commute to work, to school or University, – stressed Bartosz Milczarczyk.
It was the first competition for the construction of a network of bike lanes within the metropolis. April 2017 is scheduled and accepting applications. In the framework of a unified system of network Cycling trails self-government of the metropolis of Warsaw is planned approx. 1,1 thousand km of Cycling trails, which have to occur in 2023.
during the last 10 years in Warsaw itself was built and modernized 290 km of Cycling infrastructure. The network of cyclists in the capital has 490 kilometers. Almost 2/3 of them have asphalt surface.
