Until recently, dies of full frame and a resolution of 40 million pixels were associated us with powerful and heavy SLR. Appeared on the market, however, another apparatus in which all could fit in the housing corresponding to the size of a typical monkey. See what can a miniature Sony RX1R II.
RX1R II has been equipped with a completely new, 42.4-megapixel sensor and Carl Zeiss Sonnar T lens with a fixed focal length of 35 mm and a large aperture F2. Also improved autofocus system – now runs on 30 percent. faster than previous models RX1. World novelty is also adjustable optical low-pass filter. The user has at his disposal is set to “Off”, “Standard” and “high” and additional function of the filter bracket. Taking pictures with the camera held at eye allows the retractable XGA OLED viewfinder.
RX1R II camera uses a full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor with an effective resolution of approximately 42.4 megapixels. By working with BIONZ image processor X to deliver wide range of ISO 100-25600 (expandable 50-102 400) and wide dynamic range. The image sensor is made with BSI and equipped with enlarged copper circuitry and signal path. Such a structure should increase the transmission speed and allows you to generate output about 3.5 times faster than the model RX1R.
ZEISS Sonnar T 35mm F2 is equipped with a ring to switch a lens in macro shooting mode, in which the minimum working distance is 14 cm. Fixed Focal Length design allows to use the camera resolution by precisely adjusting the relative positions of the matrix and lens. The shorter the distance between the components, the more ambient light can reach the image sensor. Moreover, unlike the cameras with interchangeable lens shutter model RX1R II is located in the lens. This solution allows to reduce the size of the housing and further shorten the flash synchronization to 1/2000 of a second. Importantly, RX1R II has been equipped with a recording mode 14-bit uncompressed RAW image.
Fast autofocus
The matrix contains the camera placed in the focal plane, 399-point AF sensor based on phase detection, providing the world’s largest (45 percent.) AF points cover a full frame image sensor. The combination of this sensor with 25 AF points based on contrast detection resulted in about 30 per cent. higher operating speed AF system than the previous model. The advanced motion detection algorithm can accurately predict even fast movement of moving objects. Consequently, the new AF-C allows you to track behavior of the target and maintain focus on your subject, even when shooting at up to 5 frames per second.
The world’s first adjustable optical low-pass filter
A complete novelty in digital cameras is used in the model RX1R second adjustable optical low-pass filter that allows the user to change the balance between image resolution and the level of such phenomena as moire or changes in color.
There are three filter settings: “Off”, where the picture looks like matrix without low-pass filter and has the highest possibility of resolution; “Standard”, which provides a balance between resolution and removing moire and defects in color; and “high” to a greater extent eliminates the shortcomings of the image.
Price: around 3500 euros (about 15,000 zł.)
