Ericsson demonstrates the effect of calling over Wi-Fi for everyday communication – TELEPOLIS.PL

Report Ericsson Wi-Fi calling finds its voice describes the effects of Wi-Fi services calling on user behavior in everyday communication, and the perception of the service operators entering the market. It also shows how the Wi-Fi calling rate users leaving for other countries.
 

 
 The service Wi-Fi calling allows you to make telephone calls and send text messages using a hot-spot. Wi-Fi calling can be implemented as an application or use built-in instant messaging, compliant with 3GPP.
 

 
 When consumers are traveling to another country, they are changing their habits on how to use the services of mobile operators. In order to avoid bill calling much less – 75% of users perform less voice than when staying in their country. 88% of them in the use of the Internet use of public hot spots. Almost a quarter of respondents (23%) completely abandons the use of the phone.

People using smartphones, traveling to other countries were also asked about participation of text messages, voice and mobile Internet in everyday communication. 30% of communication is via voice, 46% via the Internet (mainly through the use of hot-spots). For the rest of the communications correspond to text messages.
 

 
 Using Wi-Fi calling carries with it concerns those traveling for business purposes. The quality of service is closely related to bandwidth Internet connection. Half of the respondents fear that it will be forced to use special hot-spots, offering fast and reliable Internet. This may adversely affect the mobility of users.
