An unmanned Russian Progress cargo ship took off on Friday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. On Sunday will reach the International Space Station (ISS), where he will deliver supplies and research equipment for the crew.

The crew of the ISS is looking forward to wrestling after the two previous missions have failed to deliver them a – draws attention to the Associated Press.

The current ISS crew – two Russians and an American – have stocks that will last for about four months, so the recent failures do not constitute a direct threat to her.

On Sunday, American rocket Falcon 9, with a cargo to the ISS, exploded soon after take-off from the US air force base at Cape Canaveral in Florida. Failure was an unpleasant surprise for NASA, who placed in the capsule precious commodity research equipment. The rocket was designed and operated by a private company SpaceX owned by billionaire Elon Musk.

It was the second consecutive unsuccessful mission, whose aim was to provide supplies and research equipment for the ISS crew. In April Russian Progress cargo ship failed to reach the ISS due to problems with the rocket carrier and burned in the dense layers of the atmosphere. (PAP)
