Strange behavior of Pluto and its moons – IAR / R.Motriuk
These celestial bodies “are therefore dysfunctional” – joking commentator weekly magazine “Nature”, which publishes a special article. Pluto and its largest moon – Charon – form a so-called dual system. Styx, Nix and Hydra revolve around them, but it is difficult to determine their orbits, because these moons react to the gravity of their closest neighbors.
In addition, Kerberos is probably darker than the other – do not know why. All this raises questions about the origins of the lunar planetary system.
The probe New Horizons, which will fly near Pluto for six weeks and will do a lot of pictures, can help in unraveling the mystery.
