Foreign Ministry: Poles suffered in an attack in Tunisia – Polish Radio

Wojciechowski stressed that the Polish outpost in Tunisia continues to monitor the situation.


 

The spokesman reminded the Foreign Ministry’s warning that advises against trips to Tunisia. He stressed that the region Susy is one of those who are at risk of terrorist attacks. Other places indicated in the warning ministry, the town of Bizerte, Tabarka, Hammamet, Tunis and the island of Djerba.


 

The Foreign Ministry also strongly advises against travel to border areas with Libya and Algeria.


 

The Ministry recommends traveling or planning to travel abroad to register on the portal Odysseus trip.


 

“In crisis situations, the consul has the ability individual contact with travelers in need. Information about the people living in vulnerable regions also allows for proper planning to evacuate or show other forms of assistance, if necessary,” – emphasizes the MFA.

Meanwhile, Ithaca, one of the largest Polish travel agency already suspended trips to Tunisia. – The appeal will not be sold stays and realized trips – IAR vice president of tour operator said Peter Henicz.


 

According to the Polish Chamber of Tourism, in all Tunisia is currently just over 3,000 tourists from Polish. Travel agencies are considering as soon as possible to bring tourists back.


 

A series of bombings

 

According to recent information provided by the Tunisian Ministry of Health, in an attack in the resort of Sousse, killed 28 people. Among the victims are foreign tourists, including Britons, Germans and Belgians. 36 people were injured.


 

Susa on the Mediterranean Sea is one of the most popular resorts in Tunisia, popular among tourists from Europe and North African countries. Tourism is a very important source of income for the Tunisian economy.


 

In March, the Islamists attacked the Bardo museum in Tunis, killing more than 20 foreign tourists. Among the dead they were: Polish tourists from Japan, France and Italy. During the operation, special forces also killed two of the attackers.


 

On Friday, the attacks also took place in France and Kuwait. The attack in the Shiite mosque in the capital Kuwait 25 people were killed and 202 were injured. Admitted to bombing the Islamic State (IS).


 

In the attack on the French gas plant in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier approx. 30 km south-east of Lyon, one person was killed and at least two were injured.
