Professor Dariusz Jemielniak is the first Pole who went to the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation. Until now, the 7-person council failed to get even anyone outside the US and Western Europe. Members of the Board of Trustees were elected by the Wikipedia community; the vote was attended by over 5.5 thousand people.
Pole wants among other things, increase the involvement of academia in the development of Wikipedia, but also advocates a reduction in bureaucracy and greater control over traffic strategy.
Prof. Jemieleniak head of the Department of International Management at Kozminski University in Warsaw. He specializes in managing high-technology and open cooperation organizations. He is the creator online dictionary ling.pl and service for learning English angielski.edu.pl . Jemieleniak is associated with Wikimedia since 2007. 5 years later he took part in the work of the Finance Committee at the Wikimedia Foundation and was its chairman. In 2014 years wrote the book “Life virtual wild: netnografia Wikipedia, the largest project co-created by the people”.
