Tauris is a meteor shower that was created approx. 30-40 thousand years ago in the crash that occurred in the inner Solar System. It was destroyed when the body the size of a few or even few tens of kilometers.

Usually Tauris is not attractive to a swarm of observations. In their case we can count only about 5-10 meteors per hour. It is small in comparison with the most famous Roy Perseidów, during which within an hour you can see even 100-200 meteors.

the Meeting, which takes place in October and November every year, fruiting two wind meteors: Taurydami North and South. Summer meeting, which takes place at the turn of June and July, little known, because the activity associated with a swarm of meteors (Beta Tauris) is available for observation only in the day.

Tauris, however, is not so plain as it might seem. With the summer swarm, most likely, is one of the biggest disasters of the spacecraft, the last few hundred years, that is the famous tunguska catastrophe.

Observations of the Polish astronomers working in the framework of the Polish Network Bolidowej (eng. Russian Fireball Network – PFN) show that the complex Taurydów is a narrow stream of cosmic bodies, of which the largest, in the case of their collision with the Earth can lead to disaster for the whole continent.
