Nexus 6 from Motorola can be a huge beast – 5.9-inch screen with a … – Gazeta.pl

If there is some source of rumors about the Nexus 6, to which it is worth to pay attention, it is certainly Android Police – the service will be the latest Nexus phone from Motorola, which he christened code-named Shamu. And that means that his biggest, literally and figuratively, advantage will be huge, 5.9-inch screen with a resolution of QHD. Upchnięcie 2560×1440 on such a space means that the screen smartphone will be characterized by the density of pixels per inch amounting to 496.

5.9 inches is almost an inch more than the Nexus 5 (4.95 inches). For comparison, the iPhone 6 Plus screen is 5.5 inches (though here the phone adds to much of his body) and Galaxy Note 4, the flagship “phablet” from Samsung, 5.7 inches. No wonder, then, that a large part of potential buyers worried about these reports – Nexuses are perceived as smartphones with excellent ratio price / quality. Such a large size may, however, for many impair its functionality as an everyday phone.

As told Android Police, the battery Nexus 6 will have a capacity of 3200 mAh, and the phone will work with a turbo charger Motorola – for Moto X, another flagship of Motorola, it has to provide eight hours of work a smartphone after only 15 minutes of charging. That’s not the only similarity to Moto X – edge of the casing Nexus 6 also has to be made of aluminum, and the main camera have a 13 megapixel and optical image stabilization. Smartphone is also equipped with a front set of stereo speakers.

Are these reports are confirmed? Tradition tells expect that in October, Google will reveal a new Nexus. Based on previous reports probably many fans of the brand will be only one desire – to also announced a smaller version.

We checked Ello – a new social network that is to be … – Gazeta.pl

Connect to Ello, you can still by invitation only. This is because it is still in beta, but the limited availability wake can simultaneously impression of “elitism” service.

Ella Adventure begins with a manifesto. And it maintained a serious tone – we read in it that Ello – in contrast to these popular social networking sites – users do not want to treat their subjects. So there is no intention to treat us like products, does not want to sell our records and will not display ads.

Manifesto Ello Fig. Ello

Well, Well, actually, no advertising. There is also, however, some thought out idea, as Ella would be positively distinguished from Facebook. What can you say about Ella?

– the interface is austere

For me it is just an advantage and a nice change from the crowded Facebook.

– no threading

If you complain about Edge Rank Facebook, you will not be thrilled Ello. New entries fall into the stream of all the activity, which consists of information about who added us to your friends, information about new entries, but also for the comments. Well, it gets messy, because I do not know right away, to which the entry refers to a comment.

What entry concerns this comment? Fig. Ello

– real data are optional

Ello – as befits an anti-Facebook, has not entered the real requirement of personal data. And it turns out that, at least for me it is a problem. Because suddenly I get a notification that a friend added me a person that does not associate nor the avatar or the nickname.

– Search friends is a nightmare

By default, the friends get us a person who invited us to Ello. And that’s it – there is no service like “see who of your friends are already mailing to Ello.” Yes, there is tab “Discover friends”, but we find there mainly people recommended, and not those that potentially we know. Fortunately, there is a search engine that works pretty well

– there are many privacy settings

In general profile settings you can choose whether your profile will be visible to the public (also outside Ello) whether our entries can be comment and if Ella can add us to the anonymous statistics of Use.

There is no option for it’s own set of entries so that they are visible example. only for friends.

– act gifs

As for Google+, so on Ello act gifs added to the entries. This Facebook (yet) does not

Plot & # x142; aj & # x105; trades gifs that went bust & # x105; doubtful advantage Fig. Ello

– tags do not work

– there is no reasonable notification center

this by default will get an email every time someone comment on our entry, someone will add us to your friends or when we will be noted in the listing. Needless to specify that it ends up removing from the box dozens of emails a day? Fortunately mail notification option can be turned off.

– there is no messenger

there is no private messaging system. Do you want to contact someone from the friends? Need to write in public, or … use the Facebook messenger.

– no mobile application

Ello founders announce that it has come to the end of the year. Only then may no longer be needed.

Remember Diaspora? In 2010, its creators promised that this will be the anti-Facebook. Services that will be treasured privacy that will not treat their subjects. Or Google+, which launched in 2011 and early waking only positive reactions? Diaspora never gained publicity (even one which now enjoys Ella), a Google+ is a ghost town .

Ella could be an interesting alternative to Facebook, if only offered anything more beyond idealistic manifesto. And we get the social network, which in terms of the number and expand the function could arise in times of MySpace. Ella wants to be, all that is not Facebook. And it just has a good chance because I be surprised if it reaches the true popularity.

Microsoft confirms – the new version of Windows for free! – Virtual Poland

Another source confirmed information on the planned free updates flagship OS from MS. As reported by the editorial staff of the Indonesian service Detik, head of the local branch of Microsoft has confirmed at a meeting in Jakarta that Windows 9 will be a key part of the upcoming free to update for devices based on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

According to the website BGR.com together with the new Windows 9 will debut online giant also a special tool used to easily carry large upgrade.

Unfortunately for still many users of previous versions of OS-u, the publication of the portal will not find any mention about a possible update your older variants of “Windy”. While providing the appropriate package could prove to be an excellent way to speed up the adaptation of the new edition of the system, it is not known whether it would be beneficial to the interests of the company. Today, it seems that the update can be a kind of reward for people who decided to buy releases of Windows 8 and 8.1. How will – we’ll find out soon.

Everything we know about Windows 9 (Threshold) day before the premiere – Gazeta.pl

successful, but not very well-liked Windows 8 will soon have a successor. We know that of the official invitation for tomorrow’s conference in San Francisco, which Microsoft sent out a few weeks ago.

The official said only that the Redmond giant wants to “talk about the future of Windows” . What Microsoft will do that the next version was the better tool in the era of smartphones and tablets? Checked.

Name

The case is not simple, it comes up to four solutions. Microsoft can call their system simply Windows 9 – but this name mainly promoted by the media, because somehow they must call the system. It is also possible that the code name or the name of the Threshold will be final. According to other reviews Microsoft only shorten the word and the system will be called Windows TH. I hope that this did not happen, because we all know what confusion introduced on the market name of Windows RT. There is also another possibility, quite likely if we take into consideration the declaration of Satya Nadelli, the current president of the company. He announced “a Windows”, the successor to Windows 8 may therefore be called simply “Windows”.

Old, new Start Menu

When designing Windows 8 Microsoft has big changes in the interface. For many, they were not acceptable. Nielubiący change felt most painfully ejected from the system Start menu. In the restored version could be seen at a conference for developers Build 2014 There were even suggestions that will come with the next update to Windows 8 Finally, the OSD menu returns only in the back nine. Internet leaked video showing the new Start menu, but there is no certainty that this is his final form. If, however, you will bind the habits of users with Windows 7 (it will be ejected from the lower left corner) and Windows 8 (can be clipped to the tiles.)

Windows 9

Desktop straight from Linux?

Portal Extreme Tech says that Windows 9 will have at their disposal a number of desktops. They can be changed as in the case of Linux.

Applications Metro to run from the Desktop

If Microsoft wants to introduce the possibility of pinning Metro interface applications to the Start Menu seems quite natural that it will also be run from the desktop. Just like in this picture.

Windows 9 - tiled applications to run from the Desktop

Fig. Microsoft

Solutions with Windows Phone

Windows can hit a stationary solution, which can enjoy (as of now living in the USA) Windows Phone users. It’s about Cort – a virtual assistant, which is to operate in an extremely precise manner through integration with Bing search engine. Such a change was to further confirmation of the direction in which Microsoft aims: one Windows. Using your computer, smartphone or tablet could bring you a feeling of cohesion, homogeneity.

In the “back nine” may also find other solutions with WP 8.1 – service WiFi Sense . Its aim is automatic saving login information networks we use. With this solution, the device will know that we are in a place where already used the Internet, the same letter switches. Another service that we know the mobile Windows is Storage Sense – a kind of sensor informing us about the extent to which the drives are filled in our unit.

An important change will be the appearance of Notification Center . Intuition suggests that if Microsoft wants to “single windows” on your computer screen will see the notification SMS from your phone, the information transmitted from the mobile applications etc.

What’s tiled

This is not is unclear, but it is quite possible that the tiles will disappear from Windows, but not “good”. Just by default, we will not see them, to use them you will need to turn yourself an option. If this information is true Microsoft Windows 7 users will enjoy but upset those who liked the tiled “eights”.

How much will Windows version

Microsoft may decide to important step. Step, which would be a natural consequence of the adopted strategy. With the market disappear Windows RT. At the moment we have after regular Windows computers, Windows RT tablets running on ARM processors and Windows Phone – for smartphones. According to some reports first see Windows on your computer, and then his version of RT for smartphones and tablets.

Common applications

Microsoft probably put more emphasis on apps universal, that is, that you can download on both the Windows and Windows Phone. These programs appear in the app store since April, but we expect that Microsoft will present a new stage in the development of this service. Applications should be simply much more.

New Internet Explorer, the new Direct X

According to leaks in Windows 9 will also find a refreshed version of the browser. Version 12 has to have “a more flattened and redesigned interface.” Will change the appearance of Direct X version 12 with support allowing display images even in 8K resolution.

Windows 9 for free?

As reported by Antyweb Andreas Diantoro weekend, the head of Microsoft in Indonesia blurted out and confirmed that Windows 9 will be free for license holders to “figure eight”, “the Seven”, Vista, and perhaps Windows XP. The scale of the “repricing” is not confirmed, but those who have Windows 8 computers can in principle be sure that the next system will get free.

Is Windows 9 ? Fig. YouTube

Many other improvements

Extreme Tech says that Microsoft has much more smaller, but significant improvements. One of them is a new way to update the system. Regardless of whether or not we will change the system to 9.1 or 10 has to serve one button. It has just be easier and faster.

Microsoft will surprise us with something else. But it seems that we will see a system that is better adapted to the realities of the market and consumer habits. How will you really? You’ll find this by looking at our page tomorrow.

On Friday, the Parliament voted for the creation of Polish Space Agency – Pols – with registered office in Gdańsk. The new institution will not make that Tri-City from day to day become the center of the space on the lines of the Canaveral for the great water. However, it will be easier to raise money and coordinate the production of space technology. The Agency will start work on 1 January 2015.

The modified milk, infrared thermometers, smoke detector and gas inventions that does not have ended up under the thatch, if not for the development of space technology. All come from the laboratories of NASA and originally were to be used during the mission, among others, in orbit. Huge merits of these inventions can not be assessed today. Thanks to the activities of NASA created another innovation.

A similar perspective in Poland expect originators create a Polish Space Agency (POLS). It was decided that the country should have an institution that will support the development of space technologies that will be able to be subsequently used widespread.

Recall that its creation was passed last Friday in Parliament. Earlier, when the project was discussed by the Senate, Edmund Wittbrodt – Senator from Tri-City – on one of the committees filed his amendment and moved the institution from the capital to Gdansk. Parliament adopted this amendment.

If anyone has, however, we will be in possession of their own shuttles and overhead every few hours will be a space station flew with the Polish flag painted on the hull, should their hopes put on the shelf between fairy tale. Tri-City will also center on a cosmic pattern of the Canaveral, Florida.

What is therefore to help pols?

Startup Polish Space Agency in Gdansk to ensure increase innovation and competitiveness of Polish enterprises, in addition to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Polish public administration. The aim of the agency will also meet the needs of national security.

The new institution will not only promote the knowledge and funding projects related to technologies that can be used in space, but also on land and under water. One example is the support for unmanned aircraft or submarines – says Edmund Wittbrodt, senator.

To the agency will have to be primarily initiating, preparing and implementing, inter alia, assumptions which are essential to the national interest and the national economy in the fields of space technology and space systems use satellite technology, taking into account the principle of competitiveness of Polish private and public institutions.

The new institution is also to ensure coherence and coordination of the Polish space policy, implemented within the framework of national programs, EU and international.

The Agency would support also has ongoing work on projects for Pomeranian. It should be mentioned, among others, construction of the telescope Tuchola. It will cost from 350 to 400 million. zł. So far, the device is formed forces of nine academic and technical universities in Poland, including Gdansk University of Technology.

The Agency is also to ensure better use of EU funds for the purposes of space. Poland in 2007-2013 paid to the European Union space activities over 122.5 million. In contrast, our scientists managed to win the support funds high-tech approx. 4 million. Thus, in this respect, a little fault of their own, are net contributors.

Environment scientists satisfied with the resolution of the legislature, complain about the location

Decision legislature certainly has researchers. Will facilitate the process of submitting, inter alia, applications for financial support – grants.

so far been difficult to assess whether the request for funding should be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment or the Economy, and even the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Finally, it will be ordered – says Małgorzata Michalska from the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

This Space Research Centre constructed the satellite Hevelius, who for more than a month orbits . The research project was funded by the Ministery, which for this purpose has allocated nearly 15 million zł – the construction of satellites operated various scientific communities, including from the Technical University in Graz, University of Vienna, as well as universities in Toronto and Montreal.

Finding money for this type of project in Poland was not easy. I believe that the establishment of a new institution will simplify and shorten the acquisition of funds for this type of research – adds Małgorzata Michalska.

But the problem for the researchers themselves will be the location of the agency. – It’s a shame that the seat is not determined in the capital, where the majority of scientific institutions. It’s a little more difficult cooperation – says Michalska.

Where in Gdansk will be the seat of the new institution?

No specifics as to the location of the Polish Agency Space in Gdansk, but finding it to help the local authorities.

As soon as there is information about the planned location of a new institution in Gdansk, together with the president Pawel Adamowicz proposed finding the right place for this institution. It is difficult to point out, however, for the moment any specifics. We do not know what the needs will be a new agency – says Mieczyslaw Struk , Marshal of Pomerania.

An interesting proposal formulates the author of the Senate amendment to change the location of the agency. – would be a good place environment Gdansk University of Technology. Of course, Polish Space Agency should operate in a separate building from the university – says Edmund Wittbrodt.

How the money to pols?

Polish Space Agency has be financed from three sources. The basic income grants are from the state budget (deliberate and objective). In addition, the agency will be funded with money received from the European Union funds. The new institution will also be able to enter into contracts, including to support projects – consulting and management.

In the justification of the Law on Establishment of the Polish Space Agency says that the cost of its initially estimated at 5-10 million zł per year. However, it is almost negligible amount in comparison for example. Budget National Centre for Space Studies in France, which amounts to 2.49 billion dollars.

Employment in the new agency

The new agency will manage the president and two vice-presidents. Vacancy for the post of president of the agency carried out the Council of the Agency. In the course of recruitment assessed the candidate’s professional experience, knowledge necessary to perform the tasks of the position for which recruitment is carried out and the managerial competencies. Vice Presidents while longer points to the President.

In turn, the agency board is a collegial body, composed of 13 members. Nine members appointed by the President of the Council of Ministers at the request of the heads of the various ministries – including environment and national defense. Only four members of the Prime Minister points from representatives of science and industry of persons recommended by the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences in consultation with the Committee on Space Research.
