Windows XP Users who use Firefox should reckon with the fact that a few months will become easier target for cybercriminals.

Firefox will not support Windows XP and Vista

the Firefox Browser as one of the few still offering support for Windows XP. We have, however, the official announcement by Mozilla that support for XP and Vista will end in 2017. Most likely, it will take place in September.

52 Firefox – latest fully enabled version

Mozilla recognizes that the latter, providing a full support version of the Firefox browser will be 52. Subsequent versions until the full expiration of the support services will serve only the security fixes. This means that users of Windows XP and Vista will have to forget about new features.

does it matter?

– Yes. If you are using Windows XP or Vista and Firefox browser, after the end of support, you will not receive any security fixes. This means that you will become a much easier target for different kinds of attacks, creating an additional threat to other users.

What to do?

– don’t worry about it (which is not recommended), change the system, or choose a browser that support XP and Vista will continue to be offered (remember, however, that Chrome and IE already do not offer support).

Windows XP still popular

In the end I should add that the problem with the lack of support for victims will be many millions of computers. According to analytical companies Windows XP remains for approx. 10% market share.
