Discovered the most distant galaxy – Astro News

Hubble Space Telescope is an amazing time machine. Looking back space, astronomers actually look back in time. Now, pushing Hubble to the limit, an international team of astronomers broke the distance record of cosmic watching the farthest galaxy ever seen.

Called GN-z11 is a surprisingly bright young galaxy seen as the one from 13.4 billion years. Astronomers saw her when this existed just 400 million years after the Big Bang, when the universe was only 3% of its present age. After spectroscopically confirmed redshift of size 11.1, it turned out that the galaxy is farther than originally thought.

Scientists believe that there was only 200 million to 300 million years after he began to form the first stars. GN-z11 is located in the direction of the constellation Ursa Major. Mass of a billion solar masses, surprisingly quickly produces a star for such an early moment.

This new record is likely to continue until the start of work successor Hubble Space Telescope James Webb, who will gain a glimpse even deeper into the universe for early galaxies.
