Nvidia Shield K1 tablet with Android, which in combination with the controller Shield and streaming service games Nvidia GeForce Now turns into a gaming device.
The tablet has an 8-inch display with full HD 1080p two located on the front speakers, a microSD card slot allows for memory expansion up to 128 GB of data, and an optional carrying case, which also serves as a stand. Shield K1 is powered by Nvidia Tegra K1 equipped with a 192-core unit of GPU based on the architecture of Nvidia Kepler and quad-core CPU clocked at a frequency of 2.2 GHz.
The group of games using the performance and features offered by the tablet, including such titles as “Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft”, “Octodad: Dadliest Catch” or “Vainglory” join “Need for Speed No Limits” and Polish production of “Real Boxing 2″. Players can also use the service streaming games GeForce Now offering access to more than 60 PC games, as well as the opportunity to buy PC games online shop (while getting the Steam code to be used for traditional PC) and run them without the need to install. The service is available for free for the first 3 months of use, and after the trial period subscription cost is 9.99 euros per month. You can cancel your subscription at any time during the probationary period and will not be charged any fees. And thanks to the console mode, you can play games on your big screen TV.
Using Tablet K1 Shield you will receive updates over the air directly from Nvidia. Even before Christmas Nvidia is planning an operating system update to version Android 6.0 marshmallow.
Nvidia Shield K1 is now available in the US, Canada and in selected European countries. In Poland you can buy it in networks Komputronik and X-Com. Tablet with 16GB of storage (expandable to 128 GB via microSD cards) and Wi-Fi connectivity is priced at 849 zł. Optional accessories include a controller Shield (249 zł), cases (129 zł), stylus DirectStylus 2 (79 zł) and charger plugs operating worldwide (99 zł).
