George Boole – the son of a shoemaker, who put on education
Boole, as a person descended from a lower social class did not have easy access to education. Despite this early age he learned to as many as five languages - Latin, Greek, French and Italian. Later Boole begins to change its interest. Soon, a math turns out to be the most important area of his scientific life.
Boole begins to gain recognition
Cause new interests Boole was quite pragmatic – man wanted to start a school that zabezpieczyłaby being of his family financially. Beginning their adventure with mathematics may not realize how quickly reaches the first scientific successes. After reading the works of classics of mathematics, Boole also began to write. His debut was awarded a medal by the Royal Society. In 1847 he released his book “Mathematical Analysis of Logic”.
George Boole refers to Aristotle
In 1854. Boole achieved his greatest scientific success. In the work “Study the rights of thought, which are based on mathematical theories of logic and probabilities” showed how the laws of logic paved by Aristotle may be the subject of bills.
Unusual death Boolean
Boole died at the age of just 49 years. According to many this death could have been avoided. Scientist chilled after the way to work caught him pouring rain. The rest of the day was spent in wet clothes. The wife decided to apply a Boolean rather bizarre method of treatment – would overcome the disease through exposure of the patient to her cause. So she began to pour water Boolean bed. Unfortunately, it only made him ill and scientist died after two weeks.
Boole – the father of algebra and logic
George Boole is now known as the creator of logic and algebra. By Boolean algebra is used in mathematics, digital electronics and computer science theory. But the findings Boolean surround us in many other areas of life – in databases, computers, science, electronic circuitry and communication XXI century. By this often determines it is also known as the “father of the information age.”
Google Doole reminds Boole’u
A special Google Doodle animation is now visible for each person who uses the Google search engine. Perhaps thanks to this initiative the world will remember about the form of this outstanding English scientist.
