The idea of visiting museums in unsocial hours, and this for free, came to us from behind the western border. The first ever Night of Museums took place in Berlin in 1997. In 2003. The idea of the first in Poland picked up on the National Museum in Poznan. A year later, he joined us Krakow, in later years – another city. During the next edition managed to rip these activities. But not this time.
In most Polish cities – among others Warsaw, Lodz, Katowice, Wroclaw – Night of Museums was held on Saturday, May 14th. In Poznan, Szczecin and Tri-City event is scheduled a week later.
– Each city can decide on this date at its discretion – explained at the conference preceding the Night of Museums Jadwiga Troczyńska of Poznan Estrada. – We joined the European Night of Museums, which takes place this year was May 21.
