Survival on Mars possible, but only for 68 days – Onet.pl

“Mars One” wants to colonize the Red Planet. Plans for the private organizations have long been known, but now under the microscope took them students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. According to their comprehensive report, if the mission to Mars reached, the colonists begin to die after 68 days – reported geek.com.

A group of students at MIT examine all the factors that will enable the survival of the colonists. Applications are not very optimistic. Since 2022, “Mars One” plans every two years, sending four people to Mars. They live in special, inflatable tents.

The first colonists will deal with the growing of plants that provide them with food and will be the primary source of oxygen. As it turns out, it is the plants can lead to disaster.

According to the calculations of students from MIT amount of oxygen produced by the plant will be too large, which can lead to fires. Daredevils who agree to be part of this experiment, start to die after 68 days.

Too little too much nitrogen and oxygen will prevent the implementation of plans “Mars One”. Same organization ensures that the analysis of the students are wrong and there is enough to mount a normal oxygen concentrator – read on geek.com.
