HP withdraws about 100 thousand. defective batteries. Make sure your computer is safe – Gazeta.pl

Before HP is a big challenge. The company began the process of replacing about 100 thousand lithium-ion batteries that you can find in laptops lines HP, Compaq, HP ProBook, HP PAVILION, Compaq Presario and HP Pavilion, sold between March 2013 and October 2016. According to the U.S. Bureau of product safety, they can overheat and cause a fire and burns risk.

On the official HP website you can find information about global exchange process, which models are threatened by the presence of a faulty battery and what to do to check that the battery of the client device has the right to exchange. This can be done using special software provided by HP or manually, that is, putting information about your device and battery in a special questionnaire.

HP warns:

Customers should immediately stop using rechargeable batteries involved in the programme. Customers can still use their laptops without the battery inserted, connecting the computer to an external power source.

This is not the first time HP should replace the battery in your equipment. In June last year HP had to recall from the market more than 40 thousand. battery, the use of which carried a risk of overheating. The company now recommends that even those customers who previously checked their batteries and were warned that they should not be replaced, they did it again.
