After the last decision of the Director of forests, reference areas with reserves existing in parts of the Bialowieza forest managed by State forests will cover a total of 17.6 thousand. hectares, or just over 33 percent of the total area of forest districts: Bialowieza, Hajnówka and Browsk (52.6 thous. ha).
