Nobel Prize in Chemistry for fluorescent microscope [VIDEO] – Radioszczecin.pl

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry went to the American-German team of researchers. Commission in Stockholm awarded Eric Betziga, Stephen and William Moernera Hella for the development of a fluorescence microscope.

The device has a much higher resolution than traditional optical microscopes. This provides an accurate observation of the smallest particles, and for this to look inside living cells.

According to experts, the invention will help to identify the causes of Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s.

This is the third Nobel Prize awarded this year. On Tuesday, the prize for the invention of the blue LED picked physicists from Japan. In contrast, on Monday the Nobel Prize in medicine took home an American-Norwegian team of researchers who discovered natural “GPS” in our brain. This system allows us to orient themselves in space.

The Nobel prize is 10 million Swedish kronor, or about 4.5 million. Material: CNN Newsource / x-news
