Archaeologists leading the work of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico discovered two Mayan city. They were called Lagunita and Tamchen. The discovery is dated between 300 year BC and 250 of our era.
Ruins found by an international team of archaeologists are located on the Yucatan Peninsula. City Lagunita was discovered already in the 70s of last century, but leading the work of the scientist did not leave information about its location – gives the Polish Radio.
Tamchen and Lagunicie are the ruins of pyramids and palaces. Cities have an area of about 12 hectares. It is estimated that heyday lasted between 600 and 1000 of our era. Scientists believe, however, that they were created between 250 BC and the year 300 of our era.
One particular discovery is the door of the Mayan deity, who attributed the fertility of the land. Gates are to symbolize the entrance into the world of the “sacred plants and ancestors.”
